Identifi Incorporated develops high-performance, low-cost Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for Global Supply Chain Management. The Company possesses proprietary intellectual property and patent-pending technology for read-write RFID tags and RFID tag interrogator-readers capable of batch-reading thousands of tags, giving Identifi the ability to locate, count, identify and interrogate thousands of tagged assets quickly and accurately.

The Company is focused on applying the benefits of RFID to the retail industry, where the ability to quickly, accurately and reliably read thousands of item tags can help retailers reduce shrinkage and out-of-stock situations, increase turns, enhance customer service, optimize the consumer’s shopping experience, and maximize their return on investment.

Identifi management team members have worked as principals, founders, advisors and consultants to numerous startup and early stage technology companies, including TriQuint Semiconductor, Magellan Systems Corporation, Probe Sciences, Outdoor Marketplace, Sicom and Space Data Corporation. They have worked in such diverse industries as wireless location and communication, Internet infrastructure and e-commerce, retail, consumer electronics, semiconductor design and fabrication, and electronics distribution.

John T. Armstrong – Chairman and CEO

John Armstrong is a scientist and an entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in research, development and engineering in radio frequency technologies for voice and data communications. His technical expertise, program leadership skills and business acumen combine to provide a focused, driving force for advanced RF design and commercialization.

John also is Founder and Chairman of PROBE Science, Inc. (PSI), which provides high technology wireless communication products and services to industrial original equipment manufacturers and government programs and agencies. PSI specializes in unique products and communications techniques, with particular emphasis on spread spectrum.

In a career spanning pioneering work in modulation-demodulation techniques for optical and electronic spectroscopy to specialized HF, VHF and UHF voice and data communications systems, John has served in positions ranging from Chief Design Engineer and Group Manager to Senior Scientist and Director of Advanced Technology. He has worked with such leading organizations as Resdel Engineering Corporation, Gould Navcom Systems and the Marine Sciences Research Center at the State University of New York. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Sciences from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Gary Barta – Chief Technology Officer

Gary Barta has over 30 years’ experience in wireless technology development and designing ground-breaking new products for consumer, commercial and industrial applications. He has been active in many start-up companies as a founder, investor and advisor. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors for Space Data Corporation, a company destined to provide ubiquitous data and voice communications across North America.

He also is the Chief Technology Officer for Thales Navigation, formerly Magellan Systems Corporation, a worldwide supplier of GPS navigation and mapping products for the consumer recreation market. He joined Magellan in 1988, during its early startup stage, establishing the company’s Engineering Department. As a key member of senior management, he helped to manage and rapidly grow the company from zero to more than $27 million in just five years, during a period of limited satellite coverage. As Vice President of Engineering he steered the development of new products for marine, military, aviation and professional markets worldwide. Later, he focused on advancing new technology into Magellan’s highly competitive, high-volume consumer product lines.

Prior to Magellan, he was part of the small team formed to start TriQuint Semiconductor in 1984, where he set the stage for TriQuint to become a leader in wireless consumer electronic GaAs integrated circuits, a path that later led to a very successful IPO and continued growth for that company. Gary also spent 8 years at Tektronix, Inc., designing and applying state of the art technology for quality, high-speed test instrumentation. He has degrees with honors in Physics (BS) and Electrical Engineering (MS) from Washington State University. He is a member of the IEEE and Phi Beta Kappa.

Jim White – Chief Marketing Officer

With over 25 years in marketing, business development and corporate communications, Jim specializes in product and company positioning, brand creation and management, public relations, marketing communications, advertising, employee communications, shareholder communications, and public affairs. He has worked in industries ranging from general aviation, wireless communications and healthcare, to automotive, sports and recreation, and consumer electronics – assisting startup companies in defining their missions and refining their business plans, helping technology companies commercialize and market their products, and launching new product lines for mature companies.

Currently, Jim provides marketing and communications counsel and services to companies in various stages of development. In addition to working with Identifi, he lends his marketing talent and business expertise to a GPS-wireless communications manufacturer, a fleet management startup, a motorcycle aftermarket products manufacturer, and a residential mortgage lender.

Jim was Co-Founder and Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Outdoor Marketplace, Inc., an Internet b2b and b2c e-commerce start-up, where he led the business development, strategic marketing and communications efforts. Prior to that, he served over eight years as Vice President of Corporate Communications for consumer GPS technology pioneer, Magellan Corporation, establishing that company as the leading brand in the marketplace. He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, with Bachelor of Science degree in Communications, journalism major.

Allen Hollister – Vice President of Engineering

Allen Hollister has over 20 years’ experience in engineering design and development, including more than 14 years in technical leadership positions as Vice President, Director or Division Manager. An avid teacher and mentor, as well as a technical expert, Allen has a passion for building companies and capabilities. He has created and re-built engineering departments, led multi-disciplinary teams in multi-million-dollar projects, installed engineering processes for efficiency improvement, and contributed to the technical expertise and success of a variety of manufacturing organizations.

Allen possesses technical expertise in a wide range of digital, electrical and radiowave technologies. He is experienced in 802.15, Bluetooth, DECT, and Ultra Wide Band (UWB), and has served as a voting member of the IEEE 802.11 and 802.19 standards committees. A versatile scientist and engineer, Allen is also expert in VoIP, IPv4, Ethernet, TCP, UDP, OSI 7-layer model, and telephony systems engineering. Furthermore, he is experienced in instrumentation, high-speed modems, GPS and Loran navigation systems, MPEG Video, power supply design, software systems (written “c” and database), DSP, and simulation tools including SPICE.

Adept at all aspects of engineering management including organizational development, strategic planning, engineering process, risk management, and staff development, Allen has proven himself to be a vital member of the senior management and engineering team at such leading technology companies as Plantronics, SiCOM, Tieman Communications, NH Research, II Morrow and Wavetek. Most recently, Allen served as Director of Engineering and Principal Systems Engineer at Plantronics, where he was responsible for creating a New Product Development Group that succeeded in reorganizing and re-energizing the process, bringing three new products to market in just six months. A graduate of the University of Nebraska, with both BSEE and MSEE degrees, Allen has also served as Assistant Professor Engineering at Portland State University, and authored numerous papers and three books on engineering process and design.

Cory Sanders -- Director of Sales

In partnership with John Armstrong, Cory Sanders developed the initial business plan for Identifi, Inc. His market research and analysis was instrumental in focusing the initial technology development and product deployment plans for the Company.

Cory has considerable supply-side experience in the electronics industry, having served in a variety of sales and marketing positions with Insight Electronics, LLC, since 1999. Today he is responsible for several OEM accounts, for which he develops and executes sales strategy encompassing multiple product lines. He is also responsible for sales forecasting and monitoring performance to plan. Additionally, he oversees the customer relationship management of these accounts.

Prior to joining Insight Electronics, Cory served with Now Legal Services where he managed a staff of sales associates and developed sales programs. He is a Richard M. Hennessy Scholarship recipient and graduate of Loyola Marymount University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and honors in that school’s College of Liberal Arts.
